Welcome to the Insane UO’s grand celebration of the season – the Wintertide Festival! Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of holiday wonders and embark on thrilling activities that will fill your heart with festive joy…or fear! There are activities tailored to every skill set. Most activities have a small chance to drop a Winter Festival artifact, but if not, you’ll at least get Winter Festival Coins to use at the holiday vendor. A very special thanks to Mr Riots for this wonderful event!
The Christmas Village
The Christmas Village can be found in Trammel Serpent’s Hold! Explore the town to find all of the festivities.
Slay Quests with Mr. Riot the Huntsman
Make your way to the Christmas Village and meet Mr. Riot the Huntsman. He has intriguing quests for you – slay two types of special creatures wandering all around Dagger Isle near Deceit, including Rabid Reindeer, Stocking Serpents, Jack-in-the-Boxes, Headless Elves, Abominable Snowmen, Twisted Holiday Trees, and Garish Gingermen.
Slay the Sleigh Activity
Prepare for an extraordinary adventure just east of the Ice East champion spawn, where Santa’s sleigh has met an unexpected mishap! A gate to this chilling event can be found at Luna stables.
Venture into the wintry landscape and collect sleigh parts by taking on the mischievous Wintertide Spirits. Beware, these spirit beings reflect any damage unless you arm yourself with the magical snowballs, each delivering a formidable 150 points of damage. Snowballs can be picked up off the ground or collected from Frosty the Snowball Supplier (up to 10 at a time). These spirits can also drop Christmas cards with player names on them.
Assemble 100 sleigh parts to “repair” the sleigh, and summon the formidable Wintertide King! Gear up, for defeating him might yield a reward!
Rowdy Reindeer Round Up
The rowdy reindeer have broken loose! Capture and tame these mischievous creatures and deliver them safely to the reindeer hitching post in southwest Serpent’s Hold.
HINT! You must subdue the rowdy reindeer before you can tame them!
Help Buddy the Elf
Buddy the Elf needs your help! He has a list of toys to make but is short on hands. Take on his special crafting quest and use Santa’s Elf Crafting Toolkit to bring joy to Britannia’s children.
HINT! You can always make a few extra toys for yourself!
Stocking Snatch
Stockings are hung by the beds with care, but will you risk a wintery scare? Attempt to pilfer treasures from the stockings, but beware! Failing may unleash a frosty foe bent on vengeance.
HINT! Your chance of success hinges primarily on your Stealing skill, but Hiding, Snooping, Remove Trap, Lockpicking, and Ninjitsu help your chance!
Krampus Invasion
Be careful on your adventures in the Christmas Village, as Krampus and his minions may invade. Achieve victory in the battle and you may get a reward!
Holiday Helper
Not in the mood for battles or crafts? Grab a snow shovel from Frosty the Snowman and collect snow piles scattered across Serpent’s Hold. Help Frosty ensure there are enough snowballs for the winter warriors!
HINT! Double-click Frosty to get a snow shovel, then use the snow shovel to target piles of snow, but be careful! They melt quickly! Take them back to Frosty and click COLLECT from his menu to give him all the un-melted piles of snow you collected!
Winter Festival Coins
Winter Festival Coins are a valuable currency that can be spent at the Wintertide Vendor. Explore a treasure trove of Christmas deco items that will add a touch of magic to your home or special Wintertide Tinctures that can dye your items one of 11 special hues!
