There are a few different currencies as well as gold at InsaneUO.

There are 4 main types of currencies:
* Gold - earned by killing mobs, doing treasure maps, rewards at the end of boss fights
** Gold piles are NOT visible in your bank
** Checks can not be made. You can specify gold amounts in the trade window
** To withdraw 5000 gold coins from your bank, type <code>withdraw 5000</code>. Any amount will work as long as you can carry it and have the gold in your bank
** You do not need to have gold in your pack to purchase from vendors
* Sovereign(aka sov) - earned by completing achievements. Type <code>[myachievements</code> for a list. You also earn 1 sov for every 30 minutes of logged in time
** Can be used in the UOStore. While in your house, type <code>[store</code>
** Can be converted to scrolls and traded. Use the blue gem button on <code>[wallet</code>
* Insanity tokens -  are rewards for challenging content. They can be obtained from treasure maps, bosses, events and sometimes login gifts. They are used at the Insanity Token Vendor.
** Can be spent at vendor(s) at the rune library <code>[rl</code>
* Clean up Britannia(aka CUB) points - earned by placing items in trash such as virtue and paragon artifacts
** Can use any trash container to earn these points
** Single click the container and choose "Appraise for Cleanup" to find out how many points an item is worth
** Spend points at the Cleanup Officer found near many banks. There is an officer in Luna
** Withdraw CUB points using the scales beside the CUB vendor to transfer between your own characters or sell to other players

Kudos are no longer used but do still appear on <code>[wallet</code>. Putrid is found in the Trammel Despise dungeon and can be spent at the dungeon entrance.

'''Kudos''' – these are outdated now. They were previously earned instead of sovereigns for being logged in and were then traded for sovereigns. This extra step has now been cut out and you earn sovereigns directly. For anyone who still has some of the old kudos you can double click them in your backpack to convert them directly to sovereigns.
 
'''Sovereigns''' are used in the UOStore for deco and vanity items. They can be withdrawn for trading via the blue gem next to the total. They are earned through being logged in at a rate of 1 per 30 minutes you’re logged on (for a maximum of 48 every 24 hours).
Putrid Hearts can be obtained from Despise and exchanged for rewards.
